Thanks for checking this out.
As mentioned in the “About” section, I am an artist and a farmer. Since childhood, I have been drawing, painting, making things with my hands, but farming is a relatively newer pursuit. For about the last 10 years, I worked as a visual artist, a production artist and an arts educator. But during this time, I also had many transformational experiences that opened my mind to farming and food issues, which I began to pursue on my own time. After a decade of self teaching and gardening, I entered farming full-time, and I am in my 4th season as an aspiring “career” farmer.
That said, the arts are still a vital part of who I am, so it will be an on-going process of figuring out how to blend these two parts of my life into a viable livelihood.
This site is being launched during the peak busy season for a farmer – spring! – so expect any posts from now until September to be short and sweet. As my site title suggests – you can expect all things hand-made and hand-grown, anything related to either the arts, farming, or a little bit of both.
Happy spring!
One of the 1st spring crops: peas. A lovely pea flower silhouette no?
